Giant-Healer Strategy for Town Hall 6/7

Giant Healer is definitely one of the most notable strategies and the very first powerful strategy in Clash of Clans. People use it a lot, for both farming and Clan Wars, at Town Hall 6 and 7.

The key of this strategy is to keep your Giants alive so they can take down as many defensive buildings as possible and all support troops behind them will be safe while working on normal structres.

Things to consider while using Giant Healer strategy

  • Always locate the Air Defense positions of the base you are going to attack.
  • Don’t use Lightning Spells to take out Air Defenses in this strategy. You probably want to use 2 Healing Spells + Rage Spells instead. The enemy Air Defenses can’t touch your Healers If you place your Giants properly.
  • Don’t split your Giants into 2 or more groups as your Healers and Healing Spells are limited, they can’t cover the whole base at the same time.
  • The Rage Spell can skyrocket your Healer’s buff. Use it wisely and your Healers can buff your Giants to full HP in seconds.
  • Your Healers don’t trigger any any trap, except the Skeleton Traps. As far as I know, most players in game set their Skeleton Traps to ground so you don’t need to care about this much.
  • Always check and lure the Clan troops at first as they can ruin your attacks anytime!

Giant-Healer Attack Strategy

Scouting: When attacking a base, you should lure the Clan troops to the corner and kill them first. If you are about to do a Clan War attack, after taking Clan troops out, drop your Archers next to the Builder Huts on the corner If there is any. Sometimes, people forget these Huts and just don’t have enough time to get that 100% win. Killing Clan troops is extremely important. Never forget to do this first!

When you go with Giant-Healer, you always want to attack from the side closest to the Air Defense and it is a priority you want to take out first. If your Healers are not getting hurt, your Giants will be alive. Also, you will not want to attack from the side which is being protected by Air Sweeper.

Below is an example for you. I would spend my Giants for the left Air Defense and use my Hog Riders to destroy the top Air Defense.


After that, It’s time to deploy your main army. Drop your Giants first as they are going to soak damage, protect troops behind and take down enemy defensive buildings. Drop 1-2 Giant first to test for Spring Traps. I have seen a lot of players sending all of their Giants in just a few seconds and they all get blown way by Spring Traps. By drop 1-2 Giant first and wait for a few seconds, your whole Giant army will be safe!

Once your Giants start hitting the wall, play your Wall Breakers. Beware the enemy Mortars and Wizards as they can kill your Wall Breakers anytime. Play time wisely! You may want to use your Wall Breakers to open more than 1 compartment and the Air Defense will be one of the first buildings your Giants going to attack.

The image below shows you how many Wall Breakers you need to use in order to break a decent wall level. For instance, you need 2 Wall Breakers level 3 in order to break Golden Walls.

Once the enemy Air Defense is destroyed, drop your Healers. Just use your Healing Spell on your Giants If needed to take out the Air Defense. The second Healing Spell will be effectively used to help your Hog Riders later to insure they live for the whole attack.

Just drop the second Healing Spell when your Hog HP is about 50%. Drop it on the large group of defense your Hogs are going to attack. As they target only defensive building and they bypass walls, it’s pretty easy to predict what are their next targets. Otherwise, just drop the Healing Spell on the top of them while they are attacking with 50% HP.

For example, my Hogs will move to the core after destroying the top Air Defense:


When all defenses are down on one side, you can start deploying your Wizards to take down unprotected buildings quickly.

    • However,at times,1Healer won’t heal the Giants quick enough before they die.And 1 Wall Breaker won’t cut it either,if the walls are too strong,or your Wall Breaker is too weak,the wall won’t get broken open as easily,or if the Wall Breaker is killed by a mortar or another Defense.

      • the composition is Giant+Barbarian+Archer and Hog Rider inside Clan Castle, you should ask for max hog anyway.
        its easy to clear a th6 and much more a th5. first, clear enemy clan castle then deploy all your giant and make sure all enemy defensive building targeting your Giant and place the hogs. and make sure the hogs took down mortars at the first time if it is possible. then deploy all your remaining troops to speed up the raid. hope this help you and cheers xD

  2. Hi will I am in th 7 and looking for a 3 star strategy in both trophy hunting and clan war. I have got the level one dragon in only one barrack so no mass dragon. (I don`t even like mass dragons for the time they consume).In dark barrack I` ve got level one hog.I am fed up using healer giant because of the unpredictable spring trap and asymmetrical bases. Do you have any other strategy? (My troop levels are:barb level 3 arch level 4 giant level 4 gob level 3 wall breaker level 3 balloon level 3 wiz level 3 healer level 2 drag level 1 minion level 1 hog level 1.)can you advice a strategy which doesn t cost much dark elexir. Thank you.

  3. duh! this strategy does not work anymore…not only because th7 has 3 AD now but also due to the fact that supercell reduced the attack time to 3 mins again. my giants are now unable to 3 star just because i dont have enough time now.

  4. Hi, I’ve been using GiBarch at TH6 with only 4 max giants in the cc. It’s been working very well for me, but I’ve thinking about using Giant-Healer. Should I use giant-healer, continue to gibarch, or add more giants in my normal army camps and then continue to gibarch.

  5. Umm.. I was included in war, and my spell factory is upgrading, so I can’t use any spells. I was wondering if I could use this strategy to 3 star a maxed th6 in war without the spells. I’m a TH7, and will have 195 or 200 troop space, don’t remember when camp will max out. I will have TH6 troops for war, but level 4 archers. War will start in about 20 hours, so I really need help! Thanks!


  6. Ha ha wow, this is like the 4th time I’ve commented on this strat! 😀 Anyways, woould just like to tell you that healers no longer trigger any traps, and would like to ask a few things-
    1. Would barch be better instead of wiz? Because the wiz failed to kill the valk in cc and I lost the war attack. -_- Also because they are more versatile.
    2. If we use barch, would max wiz in cc be better instead of hogs(for th7), because even though TH7’s have 3 AD’s, they are usually clumped in the core, and if they giants are raged they’ll wreck them all before a healer falls, and the wiz will help wreck behind the giants.
    3. Is this good for farming de? Assuming I only want to get to the de and th and don’t care about 3 stars, would this be better instead of GiBarch for late-early TH7’s to upgrade king?

      2. Hog Riders are always the best choice for Town Hall 7 and below. Wait until your troops are getting it to the core then drop your Hogs!
      3. This is a great DE farming strategy. Otherwise you can use GiWi. Depending on your skill, you can use either!

        Keeping your advice in mind, I’ll Giant-Healer a bit till i reach 5000 DE(just strated king to 3) and try out slightly different troop compos and exchange cc units.
        I’m interested in what GiWi is and how to use it. Can you share a guide?

    4 healers, 16 giants, 14 wiz, 4 wall breakers 2heal 1 rage
    look out for cc, drop 1 giant to lure and wiz to take out
    put all giants with wall breakers and a healer for heal support and after healer dies, put a heal spell for giants and rage for the giants to take out air def fast and then take out other 2 air defenses andthen drop all your healers for giants.
    3 STAR GUARANTEED, Rare 2 star(lost due to shortage of time)
